Immigrant to Australia traces back to Province Torino

26 Jun

A stonecutter’s son from a little village outside of Torino was recruited in the 1880s to make tombstones in Tasmania.  His exact town of birth was unknown, but has recently been discovered! The lineage is now connected to the family in Australia, and has gotten back into the 1500s ! The family is overjoyed. We’ll post more about this man’s life in the near future. The research is still on-going. He had a brother who went to New York ! Much more to learn. It’s a family history book project.
